I like how you write about bridges naturally being a place of tension and having to manage that, whilst still needing to bridge two sides together.

A bridge doesn't have the choice whether to show up on it's bad days. It's 100% or nothing.

I think mankind can learn a lot from bridges.

That’s such a thoughtful reflection, thank you. There’s something about reliability and trust that feels important.

Maybe though we do have bad days... We step off, we wobble, and we don’t always get it right. But perhaps the work of being a bridge is in choosing to come back, again and again, and keep trying to hold that space. 🌿

What an inspirational metaphor - reminds me of my childhood aspiration to 'build bridges', but, as you describe it, to be one makes perfect sense.

"Bridges, in all their forms, are acts of hope." This is truth right here. ♥️☀️

I applaud you Carrie. This is very difficult but important work, and a great article about it. It should be essential reading for politicians! Don’t forget the support also needs support/ a firm place to rest. 😉

Thank you, I really appreciate that. And yes, a good reminder that even bridges need somewhere to rest. 💚🌿
